Nice VS Rude

August 21st, 2009 by pamchoo

Hm, Friendster has changed tremendously since I last logged in.

Anyway, usually I would start with a paragraph of apologies for not updating and then tell you my one-year life story in one/two more paragraph before I forget what I wanted to put into words originally. So…

Yeah, I am living life and updating blog it’s not my top priority. Not satisfied? You can call you know…

Here’s some thoughts:

I made friends with nice people but I won’t remember them when I am 70.

I made friends with difficult, rude, bossy, and self-absorbed people and I will cherish our moments together because when we are together, we are real. We don’t try to be nice, in fact, we fought along the way. And yeah, as real people, we have sucky personalities with hidden gems somewhere inside if we look harder. I guess the first step was to accept the package as it is.

Not so new year resolution

January 22nd, 2008 by pamchoo

I know, it’s a little too late to write this but I am writing anyway for my own sake since I don’t have a proper life journal.

What did I achieve last year?
(1) Rededication to God
(2) Water salvation (I had been waiting since 2000!)
(3) A design job!
(4) Climbed half way on Penang Hill (on both attempts, my climbing mates either pukes or almost fainted >:) )
(5) Memorized a long verse from the Bible
(6) Own a make-up set
(7) Own a sewing kit
(8) Put my cartoon drawing skills to good use!
(9) Stopped playing games like a game addict
(10) Stopped promoting piracy (Although I haven’t deleted my past crime)
(11) Had been driving at 90km/h on highway

I think I did pretty good in 2007… well, more to come this year!

What do I plan to achieve in 2008?
(1) More focused at work
(2) Have savings
(3) Join Paws & help out
(4) Tell 10 people why I return to God (1 down)
(5) Learn web programming and flash
(6) Jog at least twice per week
(7) Learn to cook at home
(8) 1 hour prayer consistently
(9) Clean room once a week
(10) Climb Penang Hill
(11) Join a marathon
(12) Own Switchfoot, Hillsong, Anna Nalick’s latest and original album
(13) Start a praying group at work
(14) Get a more positive appraisal
(15) Wake up by 6am, sleep by 11am consistently
(16) Read 3 value-adding books (Marketing/Sales, Psychology, Agriculture)
(17) Go to Redang

You can only have 145 friends

January 4th, 2008 by pamchoo

This is not the original post but after stumbling across this amusing message, I MUST put it up!

When I finally logged in to Friendster and was in the process of adding some new friends, I received an error message.

It says:

"Error! You have reached the max number of friends."

Right… It seems like Friendster has decided that its members should reduce being so friendly to each other. So the company decided 145 friends per person should be fine.

I feel like a popular outcast.

Two conclusions that I can draw:
(1) This is a technical error, maybe a joke from the programmer.
(2) Because of Facebook, and other networking competitions, Friendster runs out of funds to support their current networks. So they decided to cut down some friends…

I have a feeling this new policy is not so new. Probably happened some time ago.

Anyway, it’s amusing. I wonder how is this new rule going to help Friendster survive the next wave of challenge.

Greetings fellow non-existence fans

October 29th, 2007 by pamchoo

It was dark… because it’s 9:25PM.

The felines were going about doing their businesses (if only they would do
it quietly).

The tiny valley behind the houses where everyone refers to as the longkang
didn’t smell so bad (like I want to sniff it anyway).

The…er…

ARGH!!!

I have lost my blogging skills! After having being cut off from Friendster
and finally finding my access back, I just realized I have lost my blogging
skills! It is as if I have lost my ability to think deeply!

Yes, some of you may be surprised but I do think deeply to the point I
wonder what it’s like to rule the world with tiny roaches or to have a tree
that bear cookie fruits. *ahem*

However, on my own defense, I am currently writing from a place that won’t
contribute much to creative inspiration. I am sitting next to my window and the
scene outside is not really something I would want to blog but I would do it
anyway, just to make you guys think I am canggih in my writing skills.

Just right outside my window, there is a row of houses or technically, the
"behind" of the houses. Sniff, I can’t even get a glimpse into the
residents’ living rooms to share their Astro channels or even a peep into
anyone’s lovely room… It’s not that I am a Peeping Pam but I find it unfair
that everyone from the other side can easily look into my room while I can only
stare at their kitchen’s … longkang…

Well, there is nothing much I can describe to you from this room.

Fortunately, I won’t been boring you with the backyard scenery this weekend
because I am a volunteer for AYA Dream Malaysia Awards… or was it AYA
Malaysian’s Dream Awards
?

Anyway, do you know why I am so excited?

It’s not because I am feeling useless and finally can help out (maybe a
little la, but a LITTLE bit only). It’s because I am helping out with the food
team! WHAHAHAHA! Glorious Food!

Al leh, you think serving food to people is teeny job? Ha! If you are the MC
for the entire event and at break time, you need food, who do you call? Yes,
FOOD MASTER!

So better start saying your thank yous to people who serve you food. If one
day, the food servers decided to memberontak together, ha…  all you
unthankful eaters will weep!

In case you are wondering what is AYA Dream Malaysia Awards, you can check
it out at www.ayaawards.com. Do you see
a few professional leng chais inside? Yeah? Do ya? Then, vote, vote, vote!

But… voting closes tonight at 12am. So better hurry up.

For those who have read this and realize it’s Tuesday, don’t bash Pam up.
That’s not cool. Think about the hungry MCs and other volunteers on Sunday if
you’ve crippled Pam. I have a better solution for you…

Why don’t you drop by KLPac this Sunday(4th Novemeber) and be a part of AYA
Dream Malaysia Awards? We have Astro as the official broadcaster! There is a
chance your mom might catch you digging your nose on TV. ;)

See you guys! It feels really good to blog once more!

Trying something new

July 5th, 2007 by pamchoo

Today I started work with period cramps and it really cramped up progress.

Unable to do anything, I have decided to try one of my company’s product. It’s a pain killer in powdery form. As instructed, I poured the powder into a warm glass of water. A delicious fragrant of apricot filled the air, unfortunately, scent and taste are two different thing. The medicine may smell nice but the taste overwhelms my throat. It tasted like paste that’s too watery. Upon sipping a few gulps from the cup, I can literally feel my throat sizzling a little.

Despite the uncomfortable intake of the medicine, within a few minutes, I completely forgot about my period cramps. Good stuff.

Penang World Music Festival

July 3rd, 2007 by pamchoo

Thanks, Ilona for sharing!

Yes! This is the Music Festival that I have been wanting to go! The last time I heard about it, the festival was in Kuching and KennySia was happily blogging about it here.

This is not your typical rock&roll, pop&pip, rap&shovit concert. The music they play existed centuries before Elvis. This is cultural music and it’s going to be held in Penang!

RM40 per ticket with no chairs to sit. Just open air picnic and they will hold it at "…Quarry Garden, situated just left of the entrance to the famous Botanical Garden, amidst the lush trees and tropical foliage surrounding the whole area."

Good job to the Tourism Board of Penang and Tourism Board of Sarawak.

It’ll be running for 3 days from 20 to 22 July 07 from 7:30pm to 12am. Each day with different teams.

Darn, I don’t think I will be able to attend all……

Anyone in?

I have the magic button!

July 2nd, 2007 by pamchoo

I think my face is overexposed to computer radiation.

During the weekends, a tiny red rounded object had fully manifested on my left temple. At first I thought it was a pimple, which is very rare for my face. I am one of the few people who do not need THAT much of facial care to look good.

Anyway, as I continued to harass the strange object on my temple, pressing it and hoping for something to burst, I had accidentally discovered its true function!

The tiny red button has a powerful feature.

Press once, it will bring immediate headache.

Press once and longer, the headache will prolong.

Press harder gives very painful headache and will feel the burning effect of the button.

I still haven’t discovered the way to reduce the headache effect. Maybe if I try burning….

I need a bigger brain

June 27th, 2007 by pamchoo

I need a brain I need a bigger brain

This month itself I had lost two very precious books that didn’t come cheap and a pile of cash in total of RM250 a huge sum of money; and they all happened on separate occasions. ~Sniff~

Last month, I notice some of my clothes (esp the intimate ones) went missing as well.

At this rate, I will have nothing but newspapers as clothes by the end of 2008.

This morning, my brain once again proves its worth when I left the front gate open to drop something at home. The new terrier-mixed dog (Becky), belonging to a friend’s friend, cunningly outwit me and escaped the house.

I used to think Becky was a sweet and gentle dog. I don’t think she fit that description after today. Thankfully, I have enough personal experience on dog chasing to know when to stop chasing the dog.

I think I should write in my next post with title: “How to catch a runaway dog in 30 minutes.”

But first, I need a bigger brain.

Updates

June 13th, 2007 by pamchoo

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything, my bad. I have lots of things to tell you guys but I always ended up forgetting what I wanted to write after doing other stuff.

So, some of you may know I am sharing a house with 3 ugly dogs. I don’t love and don’t like the 3 evil dogs. They are a family of Shih Tzus and I never like small breed dogs. They make a lot of noise and God has decided to give them very high-pitched bark to wake me up at 8am everyday especially weekends. Every time I passed by their cage, I would picture having a tranquiliser and shoot each of them to sleep. Yeah, I am not fully an animal lover.

I just got back from my church camp for teens in Malacca. I was assigned to be in-charge of security, which is fine with me because I love to take up the role of the evil security camper. It was even better when on second day, my period cramps killed all happy feelings! So I was there at the camp, shouting and threatening campers with great pleasure! >:)  But having teens around me made me feel old, somewhat, though not as old as the others! Hahaaha!

Last night, I met up with my former collegemates and one of them is leaving to UK again. This time she’s moving out from her place in Cheras and giving most of her furniture to me! Wo hoo! Oh yeah, guys, I moved out from sharing room with Yvonne. Now I have my own lair! We didn’t argue la, I just got tired of the limited space since both of us are literally junkies.

What else… hm… My church is having a LIFE Party next month. What’s the theme? “Reverse: Back to the basics”. We will have to dress up like the early years, in uniforms and such. Cham la, I have already thrown my uniforms away! What’s to be expected at the Party? Food, probably some workshop on working issues, food, maybe a dance performance (my church members can dance weiii… a lot of stunts), food, maybe a short sketch, and most probably FREEBIES (like cinema tickets…I hope)! The LIFE Party is for young working adults like you and me to just hang out.

Yeah, that’s pretty much the latest updates…. More to come soon!
